Akamai released its
quarterly "State of the Internet" report. And, the conclusion for the U.S. is not great. We rank only 9
th in the world in terms of robust residential "high broadband connectivity" (defined as connections of 5
Mbps or above). And, the U.S. ranks a paltry 39
th in the world (out of a total of 200 countries and regions) in broadband connections of 2
Mbps or higher.
We have a long long way to go ...
