Florence & The Machine -- What Coldplay Lacks in Passion, She More Than Makes Up For It

Florence & The Machine's new album -- "Ceremonials" -- immediately grabs you. And never lets go. "Shake It Out" gives chills. Stunning piece of work. I just texted my musical Svengali and partner-in-crime -- An Nguyen -- who is my brother's partner and oncologist extraordinaire and told him that Florence is the new Kate Bush. He texted back, "Totally. The love child of Kate Bush and Tori Amos." Precisely! Both of Florence's musical parents drove their music with passion and mystery -- THAT is Florence.

And, that takes me to Coldplay and its new album "Mylo Xyloto." What Florence's new album has in passion, Coldplay's new tunes lack it ... utterly. Sadly uninspired. Sadly going through the motions.
